Trust is at the heart of what we do. This policy explains what information Chapel Corps collects when you visit our website, contact us, give, or sign up for updates, and how we use and protect it.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to respond to you, process gifts, and share updates you ask for.
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information, including donor information.
- Card payments are handled by Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
- You can unsubscribe, opt out of tracking, or ask us to delete your information at any time.
- Chapel Corps is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, dial 988, then press 1.
01Who we are
Chapel Corps is an Austin, Texas–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 33-1918622) that builds relational resilience and connection for veterans, service members, and military-connected families across Central Texas. In this policy, "Chapel Corps," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Chapel Corps.
This policy applies to www.chapelcorps.org and to information you share with us through the website, by email, by phone, or through our forms. It does not cover websites or services run by other organizations, even if we link to them.
02Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form and messages: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), what you're reaching out about, and anything you choose to include in your message.
- Donations: your name, email address, billing address, gift amount and frequency, the fund you choose, and any tribute or dedication details. Payment card or bank details go directly to our payment processor (see Donations).
- Email sign-ups: your email address and, if provided, your name.
- Partnerships and inquiries: your name, organization, role, and contact details when you ask about partnering, volunteering, or serving with us.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, our website platform and analytics tools automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, approximate location (city or region), pages you view, how you arrived at our site, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies & analytics).
Information from others
We receive limited information from our payment processors (such as confirmation that a gift was completed) and may receive information when you interact with us on social media, such as Instagram or LinkedIn, according to your settings on those platforms.

- To process donations, send receipts, and keep the records required for a tax-exempt organization
- To send newsletters and updates you've signed up for
- To explore and manage partnerships with organizations, campuses, and employers

- To protect our website and our community from fraud, spam, and abuse

04Donations
Online gifts are processed securely through our website platform, Squarespace, using Stripe or PayPal. Your card or bank account details are sent directly to the payment processor and are never stored by Chapel Corps. We receive your name, contact details, gift amount, and confirmation that the gift went through so we can thank you and send a tax receipt.

05Email updates
If you sign up for our newsletter or updates, we'll use your email address to share news about our work, stories, events, and ways to get involved. We'll only add you to our mailing list when you sign up or give us permission.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing connect@chapelcorps.org. If you unsubscribe, we may still send you messages related to a gift you made, such as a receipt.
08Sensitive information
Please don't send medical, mental health, financial, or other highly sensitive details through our website forms or by email. Those channels are not designed for confidential care conversations. If you'd like to talk with a chaplain, reach out and we'll find a better way to connect.
09Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you
- Correct or update your information
- Delete your information, unless we're required to keep it (for example, donation records for tax purposes)
- Stop sending you emails or other communications
To make a request, email connect@chapelcorps.org with the subject "Privacy request." We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. We aim to respond within 30 days.
10Retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. Donation records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, generally at least seven years. Messages and contact information are kept while we're in touch with you and for a reasonable time afterward. Email subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections across our website and trusted, secure payment processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
11Children's privacy
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12Other websites
Our site links to other websites, including the Veterans Crisis Line, partner organizations, and our social media pages. We're not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies when you visit.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we'll post a notice on our website or let you know by email.
